Website: Information about TJ’s track program, including schedules, workouts, news, and any weather related cancellations will be available on our website www.tjtrack.com

Practice:  Outdoor track practice will begin on Wednesday February 21st.  Track  Practice will begin promptly at 3:15 pm and will usually end around 5pm. Lets hope the snow disappears prior to our start!!

PARENTS MEETING - Tuesday February 20, 6:30pm in Room 108.  VERY IMPORTANT. If your parent attended in November, they are not required to attend this meeting.

Attendance: Attendance at all practices, meetings and competitions is MANDATORY.  This includes spring break week.  Excessive absences may result in suspension or dismissal from the team.  TJ competes in major meets on Saturdays.

Gear/Equipment:  You are expected to bring appropriate clothing and shoes to all practices and meets.  Be prepared to practice outside even in colder temperatures.  A good pair of running/training shoes is necessary.  Track spikes, while highly recommended, is not mandatory.

Physicals/Permission Forms:  You must have had a physical examination in order to be cleared to practice and compete.  Physicals are good for a one year period, and if it expires anytime prior to the end of our season, you will be required to get another examination.  In addition to a complete physical form, you will need to have a parent/guardian sign an athletic permission form and a TJ track rules for participation form that will be distributed on the first day of practice.

Preseason Conditioning: If you are not currently involved in sport it is highly recommended that you begin thinking about physically preparing yourself for the start of the season.  This can include, but not limited to, running and weight lifting.  We will be continuing out of season conditioning, Monday thru Thursday from 3:30 to 5:00pm.

Intrasquad: TJ Track and Field is a co-ed sport.  While boys and girls complete and score separately at meets, you will practice together (workouts will be designed based on your event group and your ability).    Prior to the beginning of the season, you will be assigned to either the Brown or Gold team for which you will represent during special events.   The 2nd Annual Brown and Gold Track Meet is scheduled for March 1st and 2nd.
